Equora supplies research-grade peptides intended strictly for laboratory research use. Because reference material is only as trustworthy as the data behind it, every lot we release is independently analyzed by accredited third-party laboratories before it reaches a researcher. Identity and purity are documented for each individual batch, and a certificate of analysis (COA) is generated for every lot — not a single catalogue-wide figure, but a document tied to the specific material in hand.
Independent, accredited laboratories
Analysis is performed by independent U.S. laboratories that hold recognized quality accreditations, so the results are produced by parties with no stake in the sale of the material. Our analytical partners include:
- ACS Laboratory — ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited (A2LA Certificate #6786.01).
- ILS Labs Inc. — ISO/IEC 17025 accredited analytical testing.
- Freedom Diagnostics — independent analytical chemistry and purity testing.
ISO/IEC 17025 is the international standard for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories. Accreditation to it means an independent body has assessed the laboratory’s methods, equipment, and quality systems — the same standard relied upon across regulated analytical work.
How every lot is analyzed
Each batch is characterized using two complementary analytical techniques. Together they answer the two questions that matter for a research reference compound: is this the correct molecule, and how pure is it.
HPLC-UV — purity and quantitation
High-performance liquid chromatography with ultraviolet detection separates the compound from any related substances present in the sample. The relative size of the peaks establishes the chromatographic purity of the peptide and quantifies impurities, reported as a percentage for that specific lot.
Mass spectrometry — identity confirmation
Mass spectrometry measures the molecular weight of the material and confirms it matches the expected mass of the target peptide. This verifies the identity of the compound — that the vial contains the sequence it is labeled as, and not a substitute or a degraded product.
A certificate of analysis for every lot
Every batch is released with its own certificate of analysis documenting the identity confirmation and the measured purity for that lot. We publish these certificates rather than a single averaged number, because purity is a property of an individual batch, not of a catalogue. You can review the certificates on our Lab Reports page, and confirm the document that corresponds to a specific vial using the lot number on our Verify a Lot page.
How to read a certificate of analysis
A certificate of analysis is the primary document for evaluating a research compound. When reviewing one, the key fields are:
- Lot / batch number — ties the certificate to the specific material produced in that run.
- Identity result — the mass spectrometry finding confirming the molecular weight of the target peptide.
- Purity result and method — the measured purity for that lot and the analytical method used to determine it (e.g. HPLC-UV).
- Testing laboratory — the independent, accredited lab that performed the analysis.
- Date of analysis — when the testing was carried out.
